MICHELLE OBAMA
I started studying English in 2012. 4 years later, I graduated First Class Hons in Business Administration from SSU and I'm developing my career as CX specialist at Asos.com
On my free time I really enjoy travelling and going out with my family, practising some sport and taking pictures.
I have a quick summary made by images below, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. |
My background is within the financial services industry where I was responsible for a €30M portfolio. I have just graduated first-class honors in Business Administration (BSc) while I was working full time as a Team Leader at Xerox.
I have gained valuable experience managing an international team of 40 call centre agents. Long term, my ambition is to pursue a career within an executive role.

Due to the economic crisis in May 2007 and I found myself studying part time and facing a difficult financial situation. I saw an offer from a savings bank to cover a vacancy during the summer holidays. I applied for it and a month later I was working as a bank clerk 8 am to 4 pm during the week and 8 pm to 3 am Thursday to Sunday on my own business. Obviously, this situation couldn't last too much longer, but it did. I worked for the bank for just under 2 year’s full time, whilst running my own business and studying part time. Whilst under my current employment within the financial services I was headhunted by a stronger competitor within the financial services sector with an exceptional career plan.
In November 2008 I sold my share of the business to my business partner and decided to pursue my banking career and abandon my university studies. I will never know what my future would have been should I have completed my studies. But, considering the financial crisis, my thoughts were "if the unemployment rate starts to grow, there will be a lot of people with a degree in economics. My potential employer is offering me a position as a financial adviser with career development, I can finish my studies anytime”. I have worked as a financial adviser for over 5 years. I have successfully managed a €30M portfolio with high net worth individuals (HNWI) , customers with an investable finance in excess of €100.000. During my time in the bank I forged strong relationships with the customers to develop financial planning solutions for them, achieving the productivity and profitability objectives. My managers gave me extra responsibilities such as coaching and mentoring as part of the team or collaborating in the elaboration of the strategic plans of the branch. |
After 2 years in Valencia, far away from home, I decided to challenge myself: I started learning English determined to go to the UK and have the experience of living and working abroad. On October 2013 I applied for a role at WDS a Xerox Company and 3 months later I was fortunate enough to be selected out of 50 applicants as a suitable fit for the role I have applied for.
From my application in Valencia to successfully achieving a role for WDS, a Xerox Company in the UK; I have progressed from a call centre agent, considered a senior agent after 6 months, to be most recently promoted to a team leader managing a team of 40 agents within the 2 years I have worked for Xerox. Currently at Asos.com I'm responsible for one of the 6 team of specialist looking after the non-English speaker markets. I enjoy working in a call centre environment and embrace the international environment, working with employees from over 20 different nationalities which has focused my interest more in learning to read Portuguese, Italian and some French, alongside my studies within the last year of Business Administration (BS Hons) at Southampton Solent University. For the time being I do not have plans to go back to Spain. I enjoy an ever changing environment because it sets me an objective where I can access to reach my goals. |
I would like to hear from you.
